Recognize different forms of domestic violence
- and sexual harassment at the workplace
The relationship to the perpetrator and the location where t occurs may be different, but both domestic violence and sexual harassment are forms of violence (against women). Awareness is the first step towards change and can lead and prevent such violence. To raise awareness in the community the Ilse Henar- Hewitt foundation launched a project with the support of Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). The aim is that youngsters, colleagues, neighbors, family members and others will recognize these different forms of violence at an early stage both at home and at the workplace.
Domestic violence usually invoice the partner or sometimes another family member; at work it could be a colleague, a chef, a staff member or a client. Especially women are the victim of this inappropriate behavior which often relates to unequal gender relations and the abuse of power. The project focuses first on awareness of the different forms of violence at an early stage and provides tools for change in the relationship or situation. Students at the secondary level whom just entered into a partnership or probably might enter the workforce soon, will be targeted. This campaign is actively supported by radio, television, newspaper and social media.
So continue to follow us! Recognize different forms of domestic violence and sexual harassment at the workplace is the first step toward change in relationships.
